FAQ

What is your return policy?

Unused new items may be returned within 7 days with a receipt and packaging. Vintage and antique items may not be returned. Absolutely no returns without a receipt.

How can I receive my items when I am unable to shop in-person?

If you are not comfortable shopping in-store, please call or email us for curbside pick up. We are also happy to offer by-appointment shopping Monday through Wednesday when we are closed to the public.

Will you buy from me?

We do not purchase items from the public or sell on consignment. We receive many requests about this each week and do not make exceptions.

Do you offer appraisals?

We are not an appraisal service and we do not work with one, so unfortunately we cannot make recommendations for this.

Are you pet-friendly?

Very much so! Any and all well-behaved pets are welcome (and encouraged!) to join you on your visit.

What safety precautions are you taking?

Operating safely is a priority for us. We are limiting visitors to 6 at a time, are carefully monitoring to ensure masks are worn by everyone snugly over mouth and nose at all times, and are asking that all visitors sanitize their hands upon entry.

Why are you opening during a pandemic?

Our sister company, Chicago Vintage Weddings, is in the events industry and, like every events business, it has seen a lot of changes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our owner had more time on her hands than usual and saw an opportunity to start a fulfilling new project that would fill one of the many empty storefronts in Bucktown and generate income for industry colleagues and local makers.

Where do you get your inventory?

All over! Vintage and antique pieces are sourced by our owner throughout the midwest. We partner with our other vendors by carefully choosing brands that share our values: sustainability, fair labor practices, ethical sourcing and income generation for underrepresented communities and populations.

What are your values?

Sustainability is extremely important to us. All of our packaging with the exception of our ribbon is made from recycled and recyclable or compostable materials. We use LED lighting in our store and offset our electric and gas use.  Many of our beauty and candle products are vegan and cruelty-free. We take care to stock products from women-, queer- and POC-owned businesses, many of which are located in Chicago. Any non-local vendors we stock share our values of sustainability, community-building and responsible sourcing. Of course, we also donate 5% of our profits to a new local charity each season!

Who is your spring nonprofit partner?

Our spring nonprofit partner is The Night Ministry, a Bucktown organization that provides support and services for individuals struggling with poverty and homelessness. The night ministry serves everyone without regard for race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Their health outreach and youth housing programs serve more than 6,000 young people and adults each year who have nowhere else to go.
